Owen M. Murray, Director of Investment Research
After graduating from Lamar High School, Owen attended the University of Southern California, earning a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with an emphasis in Finance and Marketing in 1997.
He began his investment career with Beutel, Goodman Capital Management where he served as a Portfolio Analyst specializing in tax sensitive portfolio management. He then joined Roxbury Capital Management as an Assistant Portfolio Manager where his principal duties included the management of thousands of individual client accounts and research support for the firm's Core Equity Income portfolio.
He completed the requirements for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation in 2003 and is a member of the CFA Institute. Since joining Horizon in February 2005, Owen's focus has been investment research and portfolio construction.
In 2001, Owen married his college girlfriend, Suzanne Newell. In 2005, Owen and Suzanne celebrated the birth of their first child, Adell. When he has free time, he enjoys playing golf, tennis, basketball, and baseball.
